A third illustration from my 2017 book They Shimmer Within, expressing a deep connection I felt in my mid-thirties when I spent four years working with the Mexican entheogenic herb salvia divinorum. During the years 2004-08, I felt profoundly connected to this plant: this drawing evoked that connection and sprang from a 2013 illustration of the same name, itself derivative of a 2007 artwork.
