:: TIARZECATAR :: THE THIRTEEN SONGS ::
:: TWELFTH SONG :: IOHUIACATAR :: THE SONG OF THREE TRICKSTERS ::

This song is difficult to follow, because of the complex action, and is a sexual satire on Prometheus and Zeus featuring Metehuia (a fernal analogue of the former) and Tzihuia (a fernal analogue of the latter mixed with the Old Testament God) along with a goddess from the Ocean Garden, Chianuia, also called by her epithets Mirosai and Menesai, two Fernufin mentioned in the Fourth Song.

After Tzihuia's actions, such as stealing fire, come to nothing except to make Afer laugh in the Fifth Song, he feels foolish and wants to punish Metehuia (the fire queer) for escaping from his grasp. He goes to see Metehuia who is at the lake of the Waters of the Middle Place. The beautiful Chianuia emerges from the lake, coming from the Afer's secret Ocean Garden to seduce Tzihuia and Metehuia before they start arguing. She is happy to have both tricksters together, such is her joy in her sexuality. Metehuia is delighted at this, but Tzihuia becomes angry and refuses.

Laughing, Metehuia sings a prophecy that any child borne from Chianuia would be greater than Tzihuia, which Tzihuia cannot bear to hear. He flies into a rage and binds Metehuia to a rock next to the Waters, a process which Metehuia obviously enjoys, and which he insists Tzihuia must be enjoying also. Chianuia laughs at this. The moans of effort in binding Metehuia are satirised as moans of sexual pleasure, which only makes Tzihuia angrier still. Then Tzihuia becomes an eagle and flies down to attack the bound Metehuia, wanting to bite his liver out but Chianuia flashes her vagina at Tzihuia, distracting him, and he misses his target, instead falling on Metehuia's penis and inadvertently giving him oral sex. Metehuia ejaculates at that moment.

Tzihuia is horrified and spits out the semen, which flies out across the sky and becomes one branch of the Milky Way, and then runs to the furthest reaches of the Heavenly Garden and hides himself away, again humiliated. To the echoes of Metehuia's and Chianuia's laughter he forges a garden called Niafer – this is the Infernal World – and Tzihuia is never seen again. Meanwhile Metehuia, still bound, and Chianuia have sex, and Chianuia's breasts flow with milk, which flies out across the sky to become the other branch of the Milky Way. The child that results from their union is Achir, the triple-gendered child of language.

io to cai, the elegant
Afer laughed three times
sacred fool, world changer,
Afer laughed three times

disharmony at the Waters of the Middle Place,
calls upon Chianuia from the Ocean Garden,
Tzihuia and Metehuia at the Waters of the Middle Place,
attracts Chianuia emerging from the Ocean Garden,
her lithe dripping form silences their voices

I would lay with both of you, man and queer,
I would give my body to you both, man and queer,
I would pleasure both of you, woman and man,
I would give my body to you both, woman and man,
Chianuia and Metehuia are delighted

seeing that
we would love together as three,
sensing that
this would be deeply pleasurable,
a child would laugh and outshine Tzihuia

I will not agree to this, foolish woman and queer,
I cannot bear to hear this, foolish woman and queer,
I will take a rope and bind you, foolish queer,
I will finish your tricky nature, foolish queer,
upon the Binding Rock at the Waters of the Middle Place

Tzihuia's blind heart rises in disharmony,
Metehuia's sexual part rises in good harmony,
I delight in your binding, man who is outshone,
I didn't know you were so kinky, man who is outshone,
upon the Binding Rock at the Waters of the Middle Place

Tzihuia with great effort, says 'oh! ah! ooh!'
Metehuia with great pleasure, says 'oh! ah! ooh!'
do not make such unexpected noises, foolish queer,
I will become an eagle to kill you by biting, foolish queer
upon the Binding Rock at the Waters of the Middle Place

I will show my vagina to you, man who is outshone,
I will distract you from killing, man who is outshone,
your mouth is upon my penis, man who is outshone,
your mouth has made me ejaculate, man who is outshone
upon the Binding Rock at the Waters of the Middle Place

what have you done to me, woman and queer?
how have you humiliated me, woman and queer?
I will spit our your warm semen from my mouth
I shall naturally forge a branch of the Milky Way
across the sky from the Waters of the Middle Place

where shall I hide away, woman and queer?
how much you are laughing at me, woman and queer
I shall voyage to the furthest reaches of Heaven
I shall unnaturally forge a disappearing garden
across the sky from the Waters of the Middle Place

seeing that the foolish man has been outshone,
seeing that your breasts flow with milk,
we shall lay together, do not unbind me, Water Blessing,
we shall delight, do not unbind me, Menstrual Blessing,
we shall forge a branch of the Milky Way, Ocean Trickster

and so we who have forged from semen and milk,
who bring forth the triple-gendered child,
who cause Achir to emerge,
we, the Three Tricksters,
here we sing and sing

here in the sheltering World Tree,
music of delightful laughter
magic of creative song,
here we sing and sing
