"TWO LLAMAS AND A JAGUAR"
2006 : Inca Sky detail

Here we see the Celestial Llama and her attendants. Behind her is her child and beneath her a moon-faced crying jaguar. Across the Andes, riches are not measured in money but in llamas even today, and so again the motif of eggs denoting fertility can be seen here both in the mother and child llama. The jaguar's face is probably the detail in which I have been most faithful to Incan and Andean artistic styles. The wide-eyed crying jaguar is a motif that stretches back at least 3000 years - Wiraqocha on the famous entrance gate at Tiwanaku bears this style.
