The first image of a second video poem, entitled Pipiltzin which is intended to explore the salvia sexual dimension. A gallery of images was on the previous site of :: salviaspace :: but I feel this seldom-spoken-about aspect is worth exploring as part of the territory of the plant...
A new large format work, which continues the Bridges series begun in 2006. This explores the bridge to salviaspace via the medium of tea, which tends to engender few visionary aspects but is an excellent aid to stillness and deep meditation. It will be uploaded fully in due course. A limited edition print will soon become available.
A new animated short film is now uploaded in the Film section, inspired by the sense of maternal warmth during a salvia journey. It takes the form of a video poem and is expected to be the first in a series using imagery from other aspects of the :: salviaspace :: project.
The new site is now online. Updates to follow will include the animation for Space Training/Portals Inwards, more planned texts in the Words section and a selection of slideshows in the Film section, the first one to be called Envaginate...
Another salvia-inspired book I have just ordered is Sage Spirit - Salvia Divinorum and the Entheogenic Experience. Daniel Siebert (website here) reports on Amazon that it contains much sage wisdom, a fine recommendation from one of the leaders in salvia divinorum reseach worldwide. Daniel Siebert's long-awaited book Divine Sage doesn't seem near to publication as yet...
I've just bought Peopled Darkness - A Perceptual Transformation through Salvia Divinorum by J.D. Arthur from Amazon. I think it's a fairly new release, or at least I've only just noticed it. Essentially it documents his transfromation at the hands of La Maria from everyday folk to 'thoughtless awareness' and an intriguing inner landscape. I started reading it a few days ago and first impressions are quite good. The author is from New England (the area in the US, not the Old England I'm from...) and he's got quite a philosophical and descriptive angle on the besagement process - certainly some of his descriptions really chimed with me, and as an artist with a fairly clumsy approach to prose I admire his concise work here.

Well I'm just about to head off for a relaxing holiday in southern Crete to enjoy the sun, hill walking and wandering around Minoan sites and secluded beaches, but before I go I will upload the new :: salviaspace :: site, which includes a whole set of new galleries, some old animated short films going back to 2006 and a clearer presentation of the intended book which is the ultimate goal of this project. It also includes this blog. Despite uploading the site now I intend to promote it when I get back from Crete. It's no use promoting something when you're not around to answer emails about it from interested (and interesting!) folks...
