Close to the spot where the Pirapirana river crosses the equator in Desana territory deep in the Colombian Amazon rainforest, there is a large rock with a petroglyph representing a stylised penis entering a vagina, which is at the same time a sun bird flying acorss the sun. This deeply magical and creative symbol has for many years been very inspirational to me, and has caused me to produce a range of pieces with the motif. This particular piece is a stylised version of the motif, which is also found in the Making Magic... and Birds Of Paradise... pieces.
