For many years I have made use of digital cameras to capture some images that I have found beautiful or to suggest some abstract or interesting ideas for later use in my visual art. However, on seeing some of the more recent photographs, I have expanded my artistic practice to include camera work as an end in itself. This work ranges from the spontaneous to the colourful and I do believe that the stillness of the subjects I often choose is captured in some of these images. From microliths on a rippled beach to fallen stars on a bed of grass, these images suggest a range of themes from spontaneous moments in time ('Biker Boy' and 'Red House') to arrangements of nature ('Leaves' and 'Family'). |
