"COYOLXAUHQUI"
2002 : 30cm diameter : Inks & markers on card

This piece recreates an event in Aztec legend. Coyolxauhqui was the female leader of a rival tribe who were aiming to kill the god Huitzilopochtli who emerged fully armoured from his mother on the top of a mountain. Coyoxauhqui's army stormed the mountain but she was killed and thrown down the mountain where her body flew into several pieces.
