"IBEX FALLING CAMEL RISING"
2007 : 29cm x 42cm : Inks & markers on card

In the original petroglyph, a brightly incised camel accompanied a faded and worn ibex glyph as if these were local symbols of the kinds of astronomical World Ages detailed in my essay The House Of the Sky. Interestingly, in the northern sky there is a constellation called the camel. However, here I have shown the camel as standing proud and strong while the ibex drowns in a World Age flood. If it seems strange that a desert petroglyph might depict a kind of flood, then consider the fact that flood myths are universal across mankind, even in desert cultures, since the flood that is narrated takes place not on the earth but in the sky.
