FLYING FOX - THE FILM
Here then is the final version of the animated short film Flying Fox. I really have to credit Studio 163 for the care and attention to detail they gave to this piece. It's common in my experience for television studios to adapt everything they touch into a rough-edged TV format, but I feel here Studio 163 not only respected my original artwork but also the original Andean folktale, and I felt that the animated film format was strongly adapted to the myth, not the other way around. Enough talk. Here's the film. Enjoy!
Notice in particular when the Fox leaps from the mountain how the waters just wetten the Fox's tail without overcoming the Fox himself, just as in the original myth, when "The Fox didnt run fast enough and water soaked his tail..." It's this attention to detail that really surprised me.
The short film debuted on the BBC Big Screen in Bradford as part of the STIR Bradford festival in July 2007 in an event called This is NOT Cannes.
