lyrics and words

Every now and then I make a track which is either sung, vocoded, mumbled or a bit of all three. The words are usually the first thing that pops into my head after I've decided to put some words in, but in one case ('Drive My Car') the words came to me one morning after I'd woken up from a very strange dream. Absolutely no meaning should be reasonably ascribed to the words here - they're random in nature and get included in the songs to add a bit of texture. A lot of vocal samples go into the tunes as textures too, but they're not written here. For the curious then, here are some of these words, which I suppose are the nearest thing I have to a lyric sheet...

:: come on home ::

if the future's not lookin' bright,
if you'll never make it through the night,
come on home...

••••

:: drive my car ::

welcome to you
(and) the things that you do,
gonna drive my car,
gonna drive so far

i love you
(and) the things that you do,
gonna drive my car,
gonna drive to the stars

••••

:: olmec tickle traps ::

tantalising insights into olmec ways of thinking
can be suggested by the jade figurines
of the polymorphous were-jaguar boys
in the throes of transformation

the shaman jaguar god that lurks
in the forest with fangs and claws,
waiting for the sacrifice
that the olmecs would bring

they were wholly a mystery:
no one knows where they came from
or where they went to when they left their cities
and gardens to be reclaimed by the jungle

similarly the jaguar is a holy mystery:
no one knows where it comes from when it appears
and no one knows where it goes to mate,
to feed, to live its life...

••••

:: better always ::

better always
better sometimes
better somehow

(I did warn you they were meaningless...)
